Its official- 2025 will see the debut of the El Toro Loco redesign and marks the first big change for the truck for the first time in 22 years.

El Toro Loco has remained unchanged over the course of its tenure in Monster Jam and is considered a legendary and iconic truck (for obvious reasons), so to see it with an all new redesign was not on many fans’ bingo cards. But there is a method to madness of redesigning such an iconic truck.

For one, it has certainly freshened the look of the truck- some might argue for the worst, but name a truck besides something like Grave Digger that has stayed the same for its entire lifespan. Besides a few new schemes like the black and yellow El Toro’s, Ice and Nitro El Toro, and many more, the truck has always kept the same general scheme and the same body over its tenure. But with how trucks are run now, it causes an even bigger issue.

But the biggest reason for its redesign is simple- the cost of repairing the fiberglass body. Have you ever wondered why so many trucks that Monster Jam have put out all follow the same kind of design language, with tapered fronts and back ends? Its simple- it allows for better visbility while also preventing damage to the fiberglass when performing simple tricks. Watch any moonwalk from El Toro Loco from the last few years and find me a clip where you haven’t seen the front clip of El Toro snap in half- this new design will prevent this from happening (for the most part).
But does that really justify redesigning such an iconic truck with a new mold thats so controversial? Maybe. Fans are mixed online, with some loving the new scheme while others completely hating it. If you want my opinion, I’d like to wait until we see it drive out on track tomorrow. Everything looks good and the new flame pattern definitely gives it a more aggressive look, but the teeth looks so comically big you’d think the truck has just got a new pair of veneers.
This new El Toro Loco will make its debut in 4 different cities tomorrow- with its first debut being in Greenville, SC and Nashville, TN. The real question is, what do you think of the new El Toro Loco? Let us know on social media!
