Monster Jam Extends BKT Partnership to 2031

Monster Jam Extends BKT Partnership to 2031

Earlier this week Monster Jam and BKT Tires announced their partnership has been extended to 2031. It’s hard to think its been a decade since this partnership began, and almost a decade since the tires first became part of Monster Jam competition.

It’s evident that the growth of Monster Jam over the last decade can at least be largely in thanks to BKT Tires for their commitment to creating the best possible tire for the rigorous and unpredictable nature that is Monster Jam competition. The tires have gone through many iterations, as teams have provided feedback to help BKT produce the best possible tire for competitions. According to Monster Jam, this has culminated in their latest pattern, the “FL 354” pattern.

The article on MonsterJam.com explains in great detail about how this pattern has come about and what it means in Monster Jam.

“The tire width has been reduced by about 60 mm to make sure that there is enough space to avoid any contact with vehicle parts or any damages to the shock absorbers when the truck touches the ground after a stunt, taking into account the increased deflection at the moment of the ground impact. To ensure better rolling, the tire shape has been more ‘rounded’ while maintaining the same overall tire diameter. The tread depth has been increased in the central area for improved traction and durability. Further tire development has involved a decrease of the tread depth in the shoulder area to reduce sinking into the ground, especially while cornering. In the current tire version for Monster Jam, extra blocks have been added to the pattern in the support zone under the shoulder area. The purpose of this addition is to provide enhanced traction after the truck lands in tilted condition, or even on two wheels on one side, enabling it to rapidly regain the position.”- MonsterJam.com

It’s impressive to see the progression of the tire in contrast with the sport itself. Drivers have been able to push the boundaries to heights never seen before, and it’s exciting to think that with 6 more years of BKT’s partnership with Monster Jam, who knows what’s in store for the sport as it continues to be elevated to new heights.
